House of Istria wants to know- Hubbie2b, can we go and live in France?

We are like being french. Well, part french. My grandmother was french, and named my Dad Pierre- a name so french it is practically a cliche. Someone made a comment about this the other day, and its got us all in a parisian tizz. We love the nonchalant style;

We love the food (and the fact french women stay so trim despite coming from the land that invented brie, the french stick, and all kinds of other breads cakes and pastries)and we want to spend hours lingering over our meals too. We love this guardian article

'Few of us who have holidayed in Provence or weekended in Paris could dispute the fact that the French tend to aim for quality over quantity. Almost every village in the country boasts a bustling market featuring local sausages, patties of farm-made chevre, figs and fennel in the appropriate season or truffles dug from a wood down the lane'

And that quote alone is enough to make us want to jump-channel. Oh, not to mention that french style 'shabby chic' is inspiring more than one of my friends homes right now. But how could it not!

One of the best times I've ever had? Waking up next to the seine, in the sunshine, where Holly and I had both fallen asleep after arriving in Paris at 5am. Sat in starbucks and Holly just looked at me and said do you know what we should do? lets go to Paris. And an hour later we were on our way to pretty paris where we drank coffee in little cafes and rode a boat with the wind in our hair past the eiffel tower and rummaged in little flea markets that vanished when the police arrived nearby. Beautiful. This is us, actually asleep

Please hubbie2b, can we go live in france? He loves wine a LOT (just want to say he's not an alcoholic or anything he just finds it interesting)!! so im hoping he can be persuaded... but probably not. Ok so this vote is for you all... Should we go to Paris for our honeymoon!? H2b wants to go somewhere hot and relaxing (odd as he hates intense heat)! but I have this dream of just running around under the eiffel tower still in our wedding clothes :)

What do you think?

Merci xxxxxxx

  1. joy and rog had a week in paris for their honeymoon, loved it to bits, wandering around the streets one evening, in the pouring rain, soaked to the skin and laughing their heads off for the sheer joy of being married and being in paris in the springtime. happy days, go for it. the joyknitt vote is a yes vote.
